Ticuna Indian mask with full costume

Q:  My Aunt and I are on a search to find a new home for a set of Ticuna Indian artifacts her mother collected from the Amazon over 40 years ago.  Please let us know if you’d like me to send you the photos to see if you have any information about them or any interest in inquiring them.  Johnny, 876

A: First of all, apologies to everyone for my failure to do any posts in the previous week. Now the Mask Man is back and will try to answer questions on a daily basis. Secondly, I’d like to try something new. This mask is a good example of a rite of passage mask from the Ticuna culture of Northern Brazil. Johnny and his aunt also have a full costume and a large disk that go along with it.  I would give this group of items a solid B on our value scale.  If you are interested in acquiring something nice for your own collection, please feel free to contact us and we will pass on your information.
