White man mask Zambia 12 inches, wood Because of the unusual facial features, I believe this mask depicts a white man. The wood is hard and thinly carved. It is from the Eiteljorg estate of Indianapolis, the same man for whom the museum is named. He was a serious collector of African art and much of his collection is now in the museum. I wish we could pinpoint the exact tribe and usage. Of course, if the provenance was known, it would cost you several thousand dollars. SOLD
