The Yoruba Egungun association honors ancestor spirits and invokes protection. At one time this piece included a colorful costume, of which there are still remnants. This is an authentic piece that has seen a significant amount of ritual use. Condition very good. Some cracking on the backside, cloth costume is loose in places. This piece is large and has a very strong presence.
