Clown mask Guatemala 7.5 inches, painted wood Collected by a visitor to Guatemala back in the early 1960’s, this piece is far nicer than the tourist masks of recent years. It could be a Clown, Convite, or Gracejo-- masked characters that go ahead of the procession asking the spectators for contributions, or providing comic relief in some other fashion. They come in many styles. Note the cigar hole in the middle of the mouth, special ears, and funny little hat. SOLD
