Vaquero mask Guatemala 8 inches, wood This typical mask could have been used in the Dance of the Conquest, the Vaquero, or the Torito. It is certainly a very familiar looking character. The golden blond hair (and the eyes would have been blue) are what the Guatemalan carvers use to portray people of European descent. Well carved, but a little worn. The rear has been stained by perspiration, and it has developed a nice patina on the front. Glass eyes are missing. $250
