Pueblo 6.7 inches, painted wood Nicely carved and painted, this handsome male face has been used a number of times in the past and has been repainted. I notice this in the eyes and the lips. Typical of the of the region in style, it has raised and carved hair and mustache. The cute little ears are nailed on. You can see a dance photo of a similar mask in action in Luchuga and Sayer’s book, Mask Arts of Mexico, page 18. Most unusual for Huehues, as well as any other mask, is that the face is made out of two pieces of wood, the two halves carefully glued together at the cheeks. $260
