A: Your mother is right. It is a beat up Rangda mask that might actually be an antique. But I can’t be sure. What I do know is that lots of people would enjoy having it on the wall as decorative art. You might want to consider taking some sharp high-res photos of the front, side and rear and send them to someone who deals in Indonesian folk art for an opinion. Who knows, it might be worth something. ?
