When kings were being judged by\u00a0<\/span>Osiris<\/span><\/span><\/span>, Anubis placed their hearts on one side of a scale and a feather (representing\u00a0<\/span>Maat<\/span><\/span><\/span>) on the other. Anubis is the son of Osiris and Nephthys. <\/span>Despite being one of the most ancient and “one of the most frequently depicted and mentioned gods” in the\u00a0<\/span>Egyptian pantheon<\/span>, Anubis played almost no role in\u00a0<\/span>Egyptian myths. <\/span><\/p>\n

I believe this helmet mask is carved stone or ceramic and several thousand years old. It would have been fit over the head of a mummified corpse and used as a death mask.\u00a0 I also included a small statue\u00a0 of Anubis for you to see.\u00a0 1808<\/span><\/p>\n
