Q: I bought this mask online last week and paid less than $100 for it. The seller described the mask as African . I have a fairly large collection of African masks so I knew that was incorrect. I supposed it to be from somewhere in the Himalayan region. It has obvious wear and some damage which has been repaired. Has red wax seal on back. – Ken<\/p>\n

A:\u00a0 The red wax seal is sign that this mask is likely from Nepal (Nepalese customs used to wax stamp masks).\u00a0 This mask reminds me of a Buddhist mask from the Mustang region.\u00a0 If this mask was worn instead of looking through the eyes of the mask, the wearer would look through the teeth.\u00a0 I think your got a good deal on the price.
