A: You helped me a week ago with my African pig mask. I have another mask, but I see you only do one mask per person. How can I get you to look at another mask? Diane, 556
Q: I don’t do two or more in a row, but I’ll make an exception this time because I’m intrigued with this particular mask. It looks like it wants to be truly used in a ceremony. Of course, it is from West Africa, but exactly where I don’t know. Let’s see if one of our kind readers will help with a comment.

Thank you for posting. I have many more photos including close-ups, if anyone needs them.

Probably Chokwe from Angola or the DRC, judging by the ears, nose, facial scars, and shape of the head. The eyes are not the usual slit bulges, but the Chokwe have some pretty diverse mask types.

I’ve pinned this one down to Chokwe of Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo. Probably the Luena group.

Probably a Zambian mask not unlike the chokwe mwan pwo masks
