Traditional masquerade continues to evolve

Actually, traditional African art has been changing for a long time. Two great books to read: Africa Explores by Susan Vogel and Maske by Phyllis Galembo.

    It is traditional in its style and purpose. However, the subject matter is contemporary. It is a nice example of how traditional masquerade continues to evolve in culture. After seeing thousands of reproductions of African tradition art ever month, it is a pleasure for me to see the real deal occasionally.
